Former Vol Eric Berry got his second interception in two weeks Sunday helping the Chiefs beat the Bills in overtime. Berry also notched 10 tackles from his safety position – not bad for a rookie.

In light of the blowout loss the Vols suffered at the hands of the Tide Saturday, lets focus on some positives outside of the game. Mainly, Eric Berry recording his first NFL interception Sunday for the Chiefs. Too bad he couldn’t take it to the house, he was only a few yards short after one heck of a run back. Berry also had three pass break ups during the game and looks to be really coming on for Kansas City. A good respite after enduring another hard Vol loss the previous day.

You probably don’t want to run it toward me… You definitely don’t want to throw it in my direction. In fact, don’t even stretch near me during pre-game warmups. Just bring me a plate of medium rare bald eagle. Also, the Swiss called and decided to rename the Large Hadron Collider. It’s now referred to as the Extra Large Berry, the Berry Collider, or No. 29.

It was reported by multiple sites yesterday that former Vol All-American Eric Berry signed a 6-year, $60 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, a contract with at least $34 million in guaranteed money. It’s a record contract for a safety and couldn’t have happened to a better person, or a greater Tennessee Vol.

Eric Berry Tribute; 6 Vols selected in NFL Draft

Here’s a great tribute video to former Tennessee Volunteer Eric Berry, and another one I found here. Berry is gonna be doing big things in Kansas City after being picked by them at No. 5 in the draft Thursday evening. Berry, among other Vols, really carved out a notch for himself in Tennessee Vol lore over the past three years and seems to be carrying on the orange flag as he will wear jersey No. 29 in honor of Volunteer teammate Inky Johnson as a Chief.

Congrats are also in order for a number of other Tennessee Volunteers who were drafted Thursday, Friday and Saturday by various NFL teams. After Berry, Dan Williams went in the first round to Arizona, in the second Montario Hardesty was picked up by the Cleveland Browns, Jacques McClendon was selected by the Colts in the fourth round and in the fifth round Chris Scott was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Vol quarterback Jonathan Crompton was selected by the San Diego Chargers.

Quite a good draft for Tennessee Vols, and especially for a Vol team that one former coach said had very little talent.
