So shut up with all that bs first of all tyler bray has never plated a good team as qb. He played little. Toilet bowl teams like tn is till he can prove his self that he's good against real teams then tm don't have a qb anyone can look good against. Crap teams. Tm will go 6-6 again this year. And. Play in the toilet bowl and lose to another acc team for the 3rd straight year lol

Any way you look at it, the punishment simply doesn't fit the crime when it comes to the Pearl situation, regardless of the lying. I would think that Auburn gets the book thrown at them after everything comes out. Especially after seeing the punishment that has been levied upon Pearl up to this point.
And we all know how fast Slive reacts to things, so it could be months and a championship till anything happens with Auburn.

The only thing we really know is that Kenny Rogers was asking Mississippi State for money on behalf of Newton's father. No direct connection has been made between Auburn and money - yes the FBI is asking questions of an Auburn booster, but there is no connection, yet. Would it surprise me? No. But we are far from proof.
Pearl's situation is completely different - it is at a different stage. He was caught red-handed, lied about it, and then when confronted with the facts, admitted to lying. Pearl is basically done - now he is relegated to living in purgatory for a while in wait of even additional punishments. We ain't there yet with Newton and Auburn.
Pearl is an embarrassment to the University in the way he handled himself. If he hadn't lied, he wouldn't be in the mess that he's in - a slap on the wrist would have been it. Instead, he chose to bring himself down. Whether he brings the program down with it remains to be seen.
I'm surprised, too, that the SEC laid down the hammer, but punishment beyond that levied by the University was inevitable, and warranted. He deserves the heat that will continue throughout the season, and we will just have to put up with it as fans.
